I grew up in a small town in Northern California where my 10th grade English teacher, Mrs. Lemos kept me after school every day and made me read Shakespear while holding my tongue to get me to stop stuttering. What an amazing gift that was. I was 15 when I discovered I could change anything I didn't like and I would never be stuck with anything that I didn't intend. It's a good thing that I learned that so early in life as I have been confronted with more challenges than most ten people ever thought of. The miracle is that each of the challenges have become a precious gift. Each and every day I look for the next person that will expose me to my next adventure.

Do you have a book waiting to be written?

I believe that everyone has at least one book within them. Our lives are filled with adventures, twists and turns. It is exactly how we live each day that makes our lives interesting. The stories are what others enjoy. Have you ever had a challenge that turned your life in a new direction? Were you ever challenged to come up with more strength that you thought you had within you? Did you ever witness a miraculous recovery from a major illness? These examples are where the stories begin. Is it possible that you have ideas that would help youth or seniors overcome their challenges?
Becoming an author is empowering. It elevates your status as a credible resource. You will find that doors are opened as an author and you will become an inspiration to others. What’s your book? What are you doing to take the first step to becoming a published author?
